Specifications, Periodicals and Cleaner Schedules


COMMENCING AND FINISHING A SHIFT

STARTING YOUR SHIFT

  • Arrive at the assigned time to start shift.

  • Wear ASC247 uniform — corporate shirt, black pants, and enclosed shoes.

  • Cleaners must be well-groomed and display a high level of personal hygiene.

  • Have your Retail Contractor Induction Card and sign into the store contractor visitor book.

  • Report to Site Manager.

  • Check that you have all required PPE, Safe Work Method Statements, and MSDSs.

  • When performing any work involving liquids, a caution wet floor sign must be used on all occasions.

  • EQUIPMENT CHECKS

    • Check to see that:

      • No visible damage to any equipment.

      • Buffer oil level checked & topped up if required.

      • Scrubber/Buffer Pad holders in good condition and pads are serviceable.

      • Electrical Test & Tag is current.

      • Gas leak check completed.

      • Complete Pre-Start Checklist.

    • Ensure all gas bottles are fully turned off, spare gas bottle is full and securely chained, or remove spare gas bottle for refilling if required.


    AFTER YOUR SHIFT

    • Empty dirty water from Auto Scrubber and rinse tank.

    • Drain all liquids from clean water tank.

    • Remove filter from Auto Scrubber, clean and place back on machine.

    • Wipe Auto Scrubber with damp cloth.

    • Clean scrubbing pads.

    • Place Scrubber on charge.

    • Remove and wash buffer pad.

    • Replace with dry buffer pad.

    • Empty buffer dust bag if required.

    • Wipe buffer down with damp cloth.

    • Clean and hang up mops, clean brooms, empty buckets.

    • Check vacuum dust bag, empty contents, and reinsert vacuum bag.

    • Ensure vacuum lead is wound up safely.

    • Ensure Cleaners Room is left clean, tidy, and safe.

    • Complete End of Shift Checklist.

    • Report to Retail Client Site Manager prior to leaving.

    • Sign out of store visitor book.

Day TASKS
Monday – Sunday

TRADING FLOOR

  • Sweep areas 6, 3, 2, and 1, including behind and under moveable objects front of store.

  • Sweep/vac under all fixtures.

  • Sweep fitting rooms, including under all benches and seats.

  • Remove all stickers/gum/marks from floor, including fitting room.

  • Empty packets/loose stock to be taken to designated area.

  • Mop welcome strip, all edges, corners, around gondola feet.

  • Mop fitting rooms, ensuring to get all edges, corners, under benches, and seats.

  • Mop any areas not accessible by scrubber.

  • Mop under gondolas/fixtures in assigned area for the day. Replace water when dirty.

  • Detail all chrome, pillars, and bollards in assigned area.

  • Final sweep of store.

  • Vac carpets/mats at entry.






OFFICES AND STAFFROOMS

  • Sweep and vac all office, staffroom, and hallway floors, including behind all moveable objects.

  • Empty bins and replace liners.

  • Wipe over bins if required.

  • Wipe all doors.

  • Wipe all walls in corridors.

  • Spot clean all walls.

  • Spot clean windows and mirrors (using Clear Reflections).

  • At a slow walking pace, buff vinyl floor areas.

  • Detail mop all vinyl floor areas, edges, and corners.

  • Clean entry glass and any other glass in the store.

  • Spot clean all windows.


Car Park (where applicable):

  • Pick up litter.

  • Empty and clean ashtrays.

  • Sweep front of store.

  • Clean Public Toilets.

  • Day FULL SERVICE — TASKS PARTIAL SERVICE — TASKS
    Mon, Thurs, Sat Start scrubbing all areas of store completing areas in this order: 4, 5, 6, 3, 2, 1 (any areas not accessible by scrubber to be mopped by Cleaner 1 and 2). Start scrubbing MAJOR AISLES/RACETRACK only from front of store clockwise.
    Tues, Wed, Fri, Sun Same as above. Same as above.
    Every day At a slow walking pace, buff ENTIRE STORE (or RACETRACK + Fitting Rooms in partial service). Final sweep of store. Spot clean windows. Clean down all machines and cleaning area. Same as left column.
  • Section 10.0 — Assessment

    Outcomes:

    At the end of this session, candidates should be able to:

    • Correctly identify the difference between full cleaning specifications and partial cleaning specifications.

    • Correctly identify and follow the appropriate cleaning specification for periodical cleans and cleaners cleaning schedule.

    • Understand specific cleaning processes to be used.

    • Identify any associated hazards with cleaning tasks.
