Section 4.0 — Correct Chemical Usage and Safety

4.01 Daily Cleaning Chemicals

The following daily cleaning chemicals are the only daily cleaning chemicals approved for use by ASC247.

We understand that on certain occasions other chemicals may be required to complete special cleans or maintenance tasks. In this case, these chemicals will be supplied to you by your ASC247 Regional Manager.

No other chemicals are to be used for any reason without the express authority of your ASC247 Regional Manager.

Resolve NEVER USE IN SCRUBBING MACHINE Add 100ml to a bucket of warm water Add 25 to 30ml and fill with cold water Toilet floors and walls, removing polish splash from chrome WILL REMOVE POLISH FROM VINYL FLOORS
Lemon Disinfectant NEVER USE IN SCRUBBING MACHINE Add 100ml to a bucket of warm water Add 30ml and fill with cold water Toilets, floors, basins, bowls, and urinals (stockroom floors) ONLY FOR TOILETS, NEVER USE UNDILUTED
Clear Reflections Glass Cleaner NEVER USE IN SCRUBBING MACHINE Mix 50/50 with cold water in a window cleaning bucket Use straight Windows, stainless steel, door push plates, and chrome bollards WILL REMOVE POLISH FROM VINYL FLOORS








4.02 Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are provided for all chemicals supplied by ASC247.

A copy of all MSDSs is inserted into the ASC247 Retail Client Site On-Site Cleaning Manual and is located in all cleaners' rooms.

Please familiarise yourself with the location of this document.

MSDSs provide very important information regarding:

  • Product safety

  • Handling

  • Storage

  • First aid treatment

 


Section 4.0 — Assessment

Outcomes:
At the end of this session, a participant will be able to:

  • Identify a Material Safety Data Sheet and understand the specific sections of an MSDS.

  • Understand the risks of using daily chemicals and the first aid treatment for the chemicals used.

  • Understand the chemical usage and quantities required to clean a Retail Client Site.

  • Understand how to obtain other cleaning chemicals through the ASC247 Regional Manager.
