Section 7.0 — Amenities Cleaning Process



  • Check ceiling vents and dust with a dust brush as required prior to commencing any other process.

  • Wipe all partition tops and tops of mirrors and doors.

  • Wipe over all partitions and doors to remove any dirt or marks.


Basins should be cleaned using Resolve and/or Lemon Disinfectant.

  • Spray basins liberally and use a cloth or the centre of a red scrubbing pad or steel wool to remove any dark rings or stains.

  • Pay particular attention to areas around tap fittings.

  • Rinse with clean water and dry with paper towel or cloth.

  • Urinal sides, bases, steps and wall-mounted urinals are to be cleaned using Resolve and a toilet brush.

Toilet suites should be cleaned using Resolve and/or Lemon Disinfectant.

  • Apply liberally to inside of bowls.

  • Scrub with a toilet brush.

  • Flush to remove any residue.

  • Wipe inside and outside of bowls and cistern with paper towel or cloth.

  • Use a spray bottle with Lemon Disinfectant or Resolve and spray walls, a section at a time.

    • Wipe clean using paper towel or a cloth.

    • Ensure all areas are completed, including under hand dryers and under sinks.


    Add 100ml of Lemon Disinfectant or Resolve to a bucket and fill with clean hot water.

    • Mop all corners and edges, including behind toilet bowls.

    • Mop the entire floor thoroughly.

    • Use steel wool to remove any build-up in corners or edges.

    This should be your final step in the process.


    IMPORTANT:
    RED Bucket and RED Mop MUST be used for Amenities ONLY.
    DO NOT use the same mop and bucket for ANY OTHER AREA.

     Locker rooms:

    • Wipe down all walls and doors in locker rooms.

    • Remove any dirty marks or stains using Resolve.

    • Place 40ml of Neutral Cleaner in a bucket and fill with warm water.

    • Mop all locker room floors, including corners and edges.

    • Use steel wool to remove any build-up in corners and edges.

    • Dust door grills (if applicable) with a dust brush or wipe with a damp cloth.

    • Clean door push plates with glass cleaner and paper towel or a clean cloth.


    Section 7.0 — Assessment

    Outcomes:

    At the end of this session, a participant will be able to:

    • Identify and use the correct equipment, chemical and process required to clean amenities.

    • Identify the related hazards.
